Harvey & Edna Eubank's 1965 Plymouth Convertible

Edna and I purchased this 1965 Plymouth, Satellite Convertible on April 1, 1986 at Wilson Mills, N.C. The car had been purchased new by Roger & Jean Faulder in Hagerstown, MD.  It has a black base coat with a clear coat and the interior is original with black vinyl bucket seats and console.  Under the hood is a 318 C.I. V-8 engine.  In 1988 we restored the car frame up and it took us 1 1/2 years.  We have the before and after pictures.

We enjoy showing the car in shows and it has won several 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies.

Carl and JoAnne Hair's 1951 Ford Club Coupe

A friend in West-Smithfield owned this car.  He got it from his brother who lived in Pennyslvania.  My friend started taking the car apart, but due to medical issues, etc. in his family he lost interest in it, so it sat a few years collecting rust.  One day he called and asked me if I wanted the car.  I decided to take a look at it, what was his price.  He said I could have it for "NOTHING".  Well, you know the price was right so I couldn't pass it up.  I took the Club Coupe, and restored it to original.  I got the car in July, 2006 and it took 2 years to finish.

The exterior is black in color, with gray naugahyde interior that I upholstered myself. My wife usually does the sewing, but with her working 9+ hours daily, and me being retired, I decided to tackle it myself. Under the hood is the original 239 cu. in. Flathead V-8 engine, straight drive with over-drive transmission. We received a Top-10 trophy at the Strawberry Festival in April, 2008. We haven't entered many shows yet but plan to in the future. We enjoy driving this car very much.
A few weeks after getting this car, I bought a 1957 Golden Hawk, Studebaker from the same guy--not priced as good as the '51, but yet, still a great deal. This is my next project.

Carl and JoAnne Hair's 1956 Power Hawk, Studebaker
In 1984 Carl bought a 1955 Commander, Studebaker---a piece of junk--I might say. I thought it was beyond repair, however we went to work on the vehicle and about two years later completed it. This was during our "courting" days, so Carl & I spent many a week-end in the garage---- working on the car. We were married in September, 1987 and went to Asheville, NC for our honeymoon---in the 1955 Commander--to a Tri-State Studebaker Convention. Later we sold that car and bought this 1956 Power Hawk, Studebaker from a guy who worked with the Town of Smithfield garage. He drove the car to work every day, but it didn't look like it does today. Well, we bought this car in 1987, took it completely apart, restored it from the bottom up. At first we had a 427 motor---Power---would you say. Because I said Red was my favorite color, Carl painted the car Carmine red & white. It has a red & white vinyl interior that I did myself and am very proud of. The car now has a 350cu. in. 330 horsepower new GM crate engine with 700 R-4 automatic overdrive transmission with lock-up torque convertor. We have also added air-condition, wide white wall tires, and wire spoke wheels. This car looks original outside, but we have modified everything else. We have driven this car since 1988, it has the same paint & upholstry since we restored it. This car really means a lot to us as we drive it to Asheville yearly as our Anniversary celebration. We have won 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place trophies almost every year since we've had the car. We are members of the Southland & the Studebaker Club. Our grand-daughter, Brittney, has been going to these events with us since she was almost 2 years old, she will be 17 in September. If all goes well,  one day the car will be hers.
Thanks, Jo Anne

John Adler's 1959 4-door H.T. Edsel

I bought this beautiful 1959 Edsel in 2003 in Hesperia California.  It's a 4 door H.T. and it's painted Aqua with a white roof and side spear.  The interior is tan cloth and vinyl with tan carpet which is original.  Under the hood is an 8 cylinder 361 cu.in. 306 HP, FE with 3 speed FM-2 automatic transmission, 4 barrel Ford Motor Co. carburator with automatic choke.

I installed an air conditioner and added chrome wheels.  It took a month to install the A/C because I had to fabricate the brackets.

When I dirve this car to the store, gas station or post office it always gets some interesting comments.  Like the time a man told me "It's German, right?" or the lady that turned to her elderly mother and said, "Mama, it's a WEASEL".

I really enjoy displaying and showing this car.

Maso and Lois Sapp's 1965 Chevrolet Truck
I bought this 43-year old truck in 1983 from a gentleman who used it as a work turck, but I liked it because it was in good running condition and it was 18 years old then.  I've put a rebuilt 230 motor and a larger transmission in it.  I have also redone the interior with new seats, a carpeted floor and a CD player.

I often drive the truck to my part-time job in Smithfield and I enjoy showing it in local displays and car shows.  The truck has been painted "Candy Apple" red, but I'm still fighting some rust.  It's a loving work in progress.
